Black and White Photography

Against the Grain

It has been awhile since I have added.  I have been working on some new stuff but the exciting news is that I have released some black and white photography.  I plan on expanding more on that in the future so please come check me out at my Facebook fan page: www.facebook.com/ShadyRover/

The House

This was a house houseu0063as a kid I wondered what it was about.  It interested me to say the least.  It was close to my grandparents house and i never had the nerve to go inside… till I was 21 and I came back with a buddy and a camera.  After I took the picture, I altered it in Photoshop.

Gamer Thug T-Shirt

gamer-thugThis was an idea I had for a average Joe that had an alter ego when he was off of work.

Samal World Kickstart Project

beaa4231e8a0f3e27695caf753c779c4_largeHey there, if you can, I ask that you help a friend of mine finance a project he has been working on. Go and check it out. Click on the image to the right and it will take you to his Kickstart project. Thanks!

Down Gears

dead-gears If I haven’t said it before, I love old gears, rust and run down places.  I don’t do it much anymore, but I use to search out these things and places and photograph them.  I had a good amount of money put into a “film” camera and all the equipment that went with it.  When EVERYTHING went digital, I ended us selling all that I had because they went useless overnight.  So now I only have a little Canon and it just isn’t the same.  One day I will get a new set up though.  So it just isn’t the same to go out and shoot with this little Canon camera but I do sometimes still.  When I do, I like to add the StrangeCraft flair to in with Photoshop.

Logo Design

tld-logos I get plenty of chances to create logos for myself and clients.  Some I can show and some are still hushed till they come out.  I probably do more of that than anything.  Need one?  Drop me an email and lets see what we can create.

Distillery

peerless-mock-up-2b In my short time in the box business, I had a chance to design a box for an up and coming business.  I thought it turned out pretty well, what do you think?

Still Remains

still-remains-copy I’ve almost always loved old rusty things.  I love old abandoned buildings too.  I recently found that I like heaping metal messes.  This is one of those.  This is a truck that was in a wreck and it was left to sit in a lot.  I just added my flair to it.

Whoopinstein

whoopinstein It may take a minute to get this but if you are into video games and know the history, you might find this as funny as I did.

Business Branding

sd-logo-samples Logos are more than just a design, they are an extension of who you are and what you do.  Your company branding is like your business card in a way because it represents you and if it looks half baked or cheap, that is what they will think of you.  Recently I re-branded my logo and you can see that I went through a lot of them before finding a style that I wanted to represent me.  So when looking for a logo, don’t settle.  Find someone who will give life to it and your business.

Facelift

zombies-gone-wild2 Wait… what just happened!?!  Well, StrangeCraft just got a face lift with a new logo.  Everything is still the same, just updating with some much needed changes to the logo that’s all.  Hope everyone is having a great new year so far!

Stationary

teleological2 I do get into normal stuff a lot.  I try and push myself in many different directions so if you have a need, don’t be afraid to contact me and see what we can do!

Zombies are coming:

zombie-3 Over the last five years, I have been trying to get a zombie comic, cartoon, or panel going.  I found and artist that is interested in giving it a try.  I hope to be posting some of the new zombie cartoons very soon.  It will definitely be different than you are use to.  Stay tooned (lol)!

Urban Exploration:

[SinglePic not found]I don’t get to do it hardly at all any more, but I use to do a lot of urban exploration.  I would take video and photo of the places I went.  It was a lot of fun and would love to do more of it in the future.  These are some of the photos that were taken.

Toon Ups:

thelorn I’ve had the great opportunity to work with some great artist.  My friend Samal McNealy is doing this thing called Toon Ups where he takes pictures of people and turns them into cartoons.  I have the pleasure of doing the logos for them.  Created by Samal McNealy, Colored by Maceo Lewis, logo by Robert Wallace.

Haunted Apartment Movies:

[SinglePic not found]I find horror movies today some times funny when they are not meant to be.  I have noticed a lot of haunted apartment movies.  Um… do people think that others can’t relate to a haunted house idea.  There is something very not scary about a haunted apartment.  That’s my thoughts though, what do you think?

Steampunk:

together For those who like Steampunk, we salute you.  This was drawn by the great Samal and I added the color, texture, and shading with his direction of how it should look.  Took a long time to draw but I loved it.

The Body:

the-body-small This was a wallpaper design that I created for myself.  I used Photoshop to create this.  I was after a dark warn look that I wanted to add anatomy poster images to.

Gore vs. Suspense:

seeing-eye

Over the years I have noticed in horror or even action films, gore has gone from somewhat realistic to realistic, to over the top and not realistic.  I’m personally a fan of older films that has some gore or next to none at all.  In my opinion they did very well because they used suspense, good story telling, and creative camera shots.  I watch some of the films that come out today and it almost seems like they replace the lack of story telling/creative film shooting with lots of gore and violence.  This is why a lot of new films are left by the way side in a short amount of time and more or less forgotten about.  I can honestly say that we can learn a thing or two from Asian horror films.  Yes there is still gore and violence (but not all the time), but their story telling and camera shots are amazing.  I can count on one hand how many recent horror films that I want to add to my library.  At the same time, I have tons of older films that I have backlogged that I want to add to my horror film library.  Hopefully we will get back to making great horror films here in American on an ongoing basis once again.

What is going on:

Hey there… you are probably wondering what is going on.  I decided to host my own website and by doing so, I have to start from scratch.  So please be patient as I try to restore what I once had.  Thanks!!!
