script I love this picture.  It came out pretty cool.  I try to stretch myself to do things I normally wouldn’t do to see if I can do it.  This is something I put together not too long ago.

30-days

For a number of years now, we have seen an influx of movie remakes.  No matter if it is horror, action, comedy, or what ever it might be, we are being bombarded with them every year.  Is it a good thing or a bad thing?  In my opinion it is not a good thing at all.  Most of the movies that are being remade are classics already.  The outcome tends to be a half-baked yawn fest in comparison.  To me it also shows a lack of vision or originality.  For some reason people think they are paying homage by trying to recreate something that was great already.  In fact, it only highlights how awesome the original is by how trite the new one is.  I guess the good thing that comes out of it is that it reminds us to go back and enjoy something that may have been forgotten.  Don’t get me wrong, not all remakes are terrible.  Some are pretty good in fact.  In my humble opinion, the money used to create a remake could be used to make something new and unseen because if not, it just ends up in the “Under $5” DVD rack at the store.

seeing-eye

Over the years I have noticed in horror or even action films, gore has gone from somewhat realistic to realistic, to over the top and not realistic.  I’m personally a fan of older films that has some gore or next to none at all.  In my opinion they did very well because they used suspense, good story telling, and creative camera shots.  I watch some of the films that come out today and it almost seems like they replace the lack of story telling/creative film shooting with lots of gore and violence.  This is why a lot of new films are left by the way side in a short amount of time and more or less forgotten about.  I can honestly say that we can learn a thing or two from Asian horror films.  Yes there is still gore and violence (but not all the time), but their story telling and camera shots are amazing.  I can count on one hand how many recent horror films that I want to add to my library.  At the same time, I have tons of older films that I have backlogged that I want to add to my horror film library.  Hopefully we will get back to making great horror films here in American on an ongoing basis once again.

undead-dawn I wanted to do a “Dawn of the Dead” type of design.  I took a foggy sunset and twisted it from there to make what you see before you.

zomboy-comic-13 This one of the Zomboy comics I did awhile back.  The idea is that instead of shooting zombies, they medicate them to be civilized people in society.  Well… they don’t always take their meds or sometimes they don’t take enough.  Zomboy is what happens in a world like that.
